Dr. Ernesto L. Sarduy, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Ernesto L. Sarduy,

Dr. Ernesto L. Sarduy is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) who completed a Post-Graduate PMHNP Residency Program at the Miami Veteran’s Affairs Hospital. He completed his Doctoral Degree from Florida International University. Dr. Sarduy was enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served an active-duty period from 2009-2013. He graduated from the School of Infantry in 2009 and was stationed in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, assigned to Combat Logistics Battalion 2. In 2010, Dr. Sarduy was deployed to Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. In 2013, he was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps. In 2017, Dr. Sarduy earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from West Coast University and began his nursing career at the Miami VA Post Baccalaureate Nurse Residency (PBNR) Program. After the PBNR program, Dr. Sarduy was hired to the 11AB Medical-Surgical unit at the Miami VA, where he served as a Registered Nurse (RN) until March of 2021. As an RN, Dr. Sarduy served as a role model and mentor to all his peers. During his time in 11AB, he served as the Professional Practice Council Chairperson and was involved in several evidence-based quality improvement projects. Dr. Sarduy has been recognized and awarded several times, including seven medals and numerous commendations and promotions: Great Catch award at the Miami VA for suicide prevention. Dr. Sarduy obtained acceptance into the Post-Graduate PMHNP residency program to further the profession, improve, and promote positive patient outcomes to the Veteran Mental Health population at the VA nationwide. He was hired at the Miami VA as an independent Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner professional where he was a leader and provided competent Veteran-centered care. In early 2022, Dr. Sarduy founded South Florida Psychiatry practice. He now serves as the attending provider at South Florida Psychiatry where he mentors his peers and continues to provide excellent patient-centered care to our local community and patients across the State of Florida. He provides initial evaluations, follow up evaluations, and therapy to address all mental health needs of the patient. He also continues to help develop fine PMHNP graduates from Florida International University (FIU). As an FIU Adjunct Graduate Faculty, he provides support to all graduate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner students in the clinical setting. He completes evaluations and supervision during clinical hours and support the student in the development of the professional Nurse Practitioner. 

During his spare time, Dr. Sarduy enjoys spending time with his family and building long-lasting memories. 

 

Dr. Rochelle Bradley, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Dr. Rochelle Bradley is a Doctor of Nursing Practice prepared Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (DNP, PMHNP-BC). She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Miami. As a registered nurse in Miami, she spent 5 years caring for patients with a wide range of disorders and 2 years as a travel nurse in California during the pandemic. Soon after obtaining her Master of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice degrees from Florida International University, Dr. Bradley joined the South Florida Psychiatry team. Dr. Bradley’s goal is to decrease the stigmatization surrounding mental health by providing an easy-going atmosphere for her clients. Her natural ability to build rapport with clients allows her to provide compassionate comprehensive mental health services across the lifespan. By creating evidence based individualized treatment plans with client involvement, Dr. Bradley helps motivate clients to feel empowered to address their mental health needs. In her spare time, Dr. Bradley enjoys yoga, meditation, strength training and relaxing at the beach.

 

Glenda Ybarra MSN, APRN,PMHNP-BC 

Hello, I'm Glenda Ybarra, a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with a deep passion for helping people navigate their mental health journeys. I was born and raised in Cuba, and my early interest in healthcare led me to a fulfilling career in nursing.
After earning my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from [University], I started my healthcare adventure, where I quickly gained a reputation as a caring and understanding caregiver. Driven by a desire to focus more on mental health, I pursued a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN). 
In my early years as a PMHNP, I fine-tuned my skills in various clinical settings, aiming to take a holistic approach to mental health. My understanding of psychopharmacology, combined with a commitment to evidence-based Practice, became the bedrock for offering comprehensive care to those facing mental health challenges. 
But it's not just about clinic expertise for me. I'm also known for my advocacy work in mental health awareness. Getting involved in community outreach programs, I'm on a mission to break down the stigma around mental health and make resources more accessible. I truly believe that everyone deserves understanding, support, and quality treatment. 
Now, I continue to contribute to the field through patient care, education, and research. Always eager to learn, I stay updated on the latest advancements in psychiatric healthcare to ensure my patients benefit from the best evidence-based interventions.
Outside of work, you'll find me exercising and traveling, finding joy and inspiration beyond the clinical setting. My personal and professional journey is all about a holistic approach to well- being because I believe that mental health is a crucial part of overall health and happiness. 
My story is about the power of compassionate care and the meaningful impact a dedicated PMHNP can have on individuals and communities. My unwavering commitment to mental health advocacy and patient-centered care continues to leave a positive mark on the field, inspiring both colleagues and those fortunate enough to be under my care. 

 

Jessica Penate MSN, APRN,PMHNP-BC

I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental-Health Nurse Practitioner. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Miami Dade College. As a registered nurse native to Miami, I spent 5 years taking care of patients in a variety of settings including: medical-surgical, oncology, infusion, and psychiatry. I decided to advance my career further focusing on psychiatry. I obtained my Master of Science in Nursing degree as a Psychiatric Mental-Health Nurse Practitioner from Florida International University. Currently, I am pursuing my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree at FIU. I am bilingual in English and Spanish. I am very compassionate with my patients and looking forward to collaborating closely with them to best meet their mental health needs. My goal is to empower patients to improve their mental health while providing excellent, quality care. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, working out, and traveling. 

 

Isis De Armas MSN, APRN,PMHNP-BC

I am a dedicated nurse with seven years of experience, specializing in critical care at Ryder Trauma Center for the past three years. I graduated from Miami Dade Medical Campus with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2016. In 2021, I followed my dreams and started my master's degree as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Florida International University. I graduated with honors and earned membership in the prestigious Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. I am set to embark on my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) journey at Florida International University starting in January, showcasing a commitment to advancing knowledge and expertise in my career. I am bilingual and speak English and Spanish. I enjoy spending time at the ocean, sharing moments with my family and traveling around the world.
